Terms of Service — Travel Chinese

1) About Travel Chinese

Travel Chinese is a language learning app designed to help you learn practical Chinese for real travel situations. The App focuses on short daily lessons, real-life phrases & dialogs, and speaking practice (including optional AI-assisted features).

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by local law) to use the App. If you are under this age, you may not use Travel Chinese.

3) Accounts & Registration

• Travel Chinese does not require account creation.
• No email, phone number, or login is required.
• Your progress and preferences are stored locally on your device.

You are responsible for safeguarding your device and any local data stored on it.

4) Subscriptions & Payments

Travel Chinese may offer optional paid subscriptions (“Pro”) that unlock additional features such as:

• Full access to all travel lessons
• AI speaking practice with real scenarios
• Save & review important phrases
• Offline access while traveling
• Ad-free experience (remove ads)

5) AI & Speaking Features

Some features may include AI-assisted speaking practice, role-play, or speech evaluation. These features are provided for learning support only and are not guaranteed to be accurate.

• AI feedback may vary between sessions.
• Speaking scores are educational and not professional assessments.
• Do not rely on AI output as factual, legal, medical, or professional advice.

6) Offline & On-Device Processing

Travel Chinese is designed with a local-first architecture: lessons are processed on your device and your progress is saved locally. The App does not upload your learning content to servers.

If we introduce optional cloud features in the future, we will request your explicit consent and update these Terms.

7) User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the App’s source code.
• Copy, redistribute, or resell the learning content.
• Use the App for illegal, abusive, or harmful purposes.

8) Intellectual Property

All content in Travel Chinese—including lessons, dialogs, audio, UI design, icons, and branding—is owned by Travel Chinese or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use the content only for personal learning purposes.

9) Updates & Changes

We may update the App, features, content, or these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

10) Disclaimer of Warranties

Travel Chinese is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that AI features will always perform as expected.

11) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Travel Chinese is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data resulting from device issues, deletion, or system resets.

12) Termination

You may stop using Travel Chinese at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

13) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, unless otherwise required by local regulations.
